Join us for an open seminar with dr Simona Gradinaru from the Land Change Science group at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape (WSL), speaking on “Steering peri-urban land transformations and their impact on the food system.
“Centre of Excellence Talks” is a series of meetings organized by the newly established Human-Environmental Systems Research Center. The “Talks” will be held with various experts not only from the field of environmental and social research but also those experts whose skills are beneficial for research and academia.
Who and When
Dr Gradinaru is a researcher at the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research. She focuses on land transformation at the urban-rural interface, agricultural land abandonment, planning and policy evaluation and green infrastructures – topics that have their place on the agenda of the Human-Environmental System Research Centre.
The seminar will be online and will focus on the challenges of peri-urban land transformations and their impact on the food system.
